How do you do it? How do you ignore that socially-imposed anxiety? How do you push past the fear? Can you advise me in any way?
Well, boy howdy...good question.
When this first hit my inbox, I knew I was in trouble.
Humpasaur Jones is mostly just a mask, but it’s also a mask that I carved by hand, and it happens to fit perfectly. So there’s no sense trying to hide behind something that’s basically transparent, right?
I’d like to believe that David Blaine can levitate, but I’ve got magician buddies who’ve demonstrated the trick in front of me. I’d like to believe that making mad money off The Internets is a path to financial freedom and total happiness, but that’s basically on par with buying lottery tickets.
Most of all, I’d like to believe that simple willpower, self-discipline and raw balls is enough to make life work.
It’s actually not, though. So when that question first got posed to me, many months ago, I knew I was fucked because it was a reflection of the Exact Same Question I’d been posing to myself for over a year. No answer then, no answer since.
I’m thinking about it, though. The answer will involve sex and weird biology. Many people will disagree with me and leave detailed comments explaining why. In other words, business as usual is getting underway once again. Buckle up.

There is a way. Everybody’s just made things a lot more difficult for themselves. Look at me: I was in a learning disabled environment that was a total crock and literally stole two years of my adolescent academic and social development- Now as an adult STILL that gap does not compensate for the problems for example with communicating with adult women who get me hot. So what am I doing? Utilizing stillness in whatever way one can say and learning - reading books upon books to compensate for lost time so that I can make it on the ground floor. Also there is a lot to do as a society. That will take time and effort. If people keep their divisions in place like they’re doing now everyone has failed- but I know I’m not going to fail. And I know humanity deserves one chance to see what it’s truly capable of: Not unlike a biblical flood washing everything away and everything being reborn and remade to make it just one more time. But then again that’s the pessimist talking in me again. People have to believe in something. Like, I have things in my life that give it meaning and they are not religious or legal constructs but I know that they are concepts and ideas higher than me and beyond me and I use those to guide me because I feel responsible for doing the best I can in life. Faith is abundant. Cheap bullshit faith like the kind you find at college, or in a book, or in a cult, or from a parent sometimes comes and goes and is impermanent. But REAL faith in things really going somewhere- When you feel you have to do something just because noone else is… That never expires. It has no limit. So do I win the prize? lol
