Keep it Moist 25th Anniversary Edition

Spent a few hours today catching up with DJ Squid, and it turns out the dude is working on another Bananamal! project this year. Which is pretty appropriate, since World Around is currently prepping for the re-release of my classic first album, Keep it Moist. They’re doing a deluxe “25th Anniversary Edition” that’s going to include the roughly two dozen tracks that we cut from the original EP, plus a ton of remixes. The compact disc itself will be close to a full 80 minutes, it should be a pretty absurd production when this is all said and done.

So far, reaction from the notoriously knee-jerk Catholic lobby has been muted, despite the fact the album cover depicts me and a gorgeous adult film star riding around on Pope Benedict. Maybe they’re cool with it because he’s smiling with such transparently authentic joy? Maybe they’re just glad he got a chance to cut loose and enjoy himself? He’s been having a tough few years, after all.

The poor guy dedicated his entire career to making the world safe for ordained pedophiles, and he’s had to watch it all fall apart in the past decade. That can’t be easy, seeing all these ungrateful victims complaining about the Glory of God...waking up every morning to foul press clippings from hateful journalists who insist on exposing the True Eucharist.

Then again, maybe they’re all just fucking cowards. Time will tell.
